Heating

Gas or oil consumption is driven by outdoor temperatures and control systems and depends on static factors such as the building envelope and existing boiler systems.

The boiler accuracy and efficiency can be adjusted on the basis of the entire heating load of the building. The building envelope will rarely be insulated without particular need for renovation but there are additional areas of improvement including zoning, night setback, individual temperature levels, energy efficient pumps, improved boiler efficiency and changed staff behaviour.

A first step would be the alignment of outdoor temperatures with the energy consumption for heating and should show similar patterns. Losses will be also identified by comparison against benchmarks, the analysis of individual consumers and from best practice experienced in other hotels.
