Comfortable light in guest areas is a challenging subject and significantly affects the atmospheric environment. In back office and staff areas lights often remain switched on 24/24 and once installed these systems do not change and cause high costs. In particular halogen spots are used excessively but are highly inefficient. The simply replacement of existing light bulbs with LED technology is not always feasible as bulb fittings, voltages, dimming needs or individual illumination requirements need to be known. Actions to improve the system include the adaption of existing and future lighting systems to real needs, the installation of control systems, and the use of energy efficient illumination according to existing bulb fittings but also influencing staff behaviour to simply switch off lights.
