Monitoring

Monitoring

Energy and water are often considered as overheads although they cause significant burdens. These costs vary over time and depend on static and variable factors. While static factors such as the building shell can’t be changed easily it is more important to analyse the influence of variable factors on the energy consumption. Variable factors include outside temperatures, overnights, staff and guest behaviour or equipment usage. A simple monitoring system helps to understand consumption patterns, to detect easy savings and to keep consumption at an optimised level.

On a monthly basis the energy consumption will be recorded and indicators calculated. With this simple approach it is possible to predict the energy consumption and to react just in time in case of losses.
